What you should know about Neurosurgeon Michael Morgan
Professor Morgan is an internationally recognized neurosurgeon for aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and complex reconstruction of the arteries of the brain. Cerebrovascular neurosurgery including arteriovenous malformations (ABM), cerebral aneurysms and surgery for stroke (including bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy and brain hemorrhage). Interests: Cerebrovascular neurosurgery including bypass surgery for moyamoya disease. Interests: Microsurgery for aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, cavernomas and surgery for the prevention of stroke including carotid surgery and bypass procedures. Interests: Microsurgery for aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, cavernomas and skull bottom surgery. Since obtaining his fellowship he has been practicing in Canberra managing all aspects of cerebral, spinal and peripheral nerve surgery. A potent involvement with neurosurgical education has been maintained by his position on the arcs Board of Neurosurgery and the Board of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia for the former 10 years. This is in addition to maintaining his expertise in complex spinal surgery, including spinal oncology. After completing his neurosurgery training in Sydney, Dr Si joined the fellowship program at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the USA where he received sub specialty training in the management of brain, spine and peripheral nerve tumors. His clinical expertise includes active surgery, multimodal imaging and electrophysiology guided surgery for eloquent brain and spinal surgery for degenerative and malignant disease. After serving for two years as a consultant neurosurgeon, he joined the department of neurosurgery in Dina Hospital at the Tehran University. He obtained his Master of Public health in 2003. In 2009, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
